Coffee. It’s the fuel that keep the brewery turning!
This year’s Stooge Project wraps up with our final winter release. Nothing pairs with winter more than a stout. With the cold, dark nights creeping in, we like nothing more than locking down in a toasty warm pub and drinking the dark stuff.
The consumption of coffee is our morning ritual that gets the gang going. We made the natural conclusion to combine both of our obsessions and let it play a role in a third of our project.
We are delighted to be teaming up with the Hackney Coffee Company to help us develop our recipe. Blending their ‘Kingsland’ coffee beans with our stout base that matched up a treat. We let the base soak up the bright coffee notes from the whole beans letting it soften the flavours. It’s bold sweet aromatics lift the beer and the walnut and sweet dark berry notes of the coffee combine with the chocolate, malty flavours of the beer and create a rich, deep flavour profile.
We will be releasing it into the wild over December, others in the series will be a Blueberry Stout and a Black Forrest Gateaux. More about them later. Keep an eye out, there are very limited amounts of each…
