We had the opportunity to be able to brew with our local friends Pressure Drop. Previously based on the otherside of London Fields park in Bohemia Place, which is now home to the Experiment between them and Verdant. Known for their big hop heavy IPA’s and historically consistent Pale Fire. We couldn’t resist creating a juicy IPA. 7% DDH GUAVA IPA
With tropical fruit flavours from the big hitting hops; Idaoho 7, Citra and Mandarina Bavaria, we decided to boost it’s juiciness with some Guava. I’ve been wanting to brew with Guava for a while. It essentially tastes like a combination between a grapefruit and a pear. I’ve always considered it to look like a tropical tomato!
We added in hops at every step of the way, form the boil, during the fermentation and post fermentation. We wanted as much hop freshness as we could!
We shared a very similar vision to this beer and it was very easy to piece it together from Ben’s experience of brewing this kind of juicy hazy beer. Hence Smooth Sailing.
We had a great launch at the new Red Hand in Dalston. Well done to everyone who made a boat (it’s harder than you think).
We hope you get to try this juicy treat.
